Effect of Stator Slots on Electromagnetic Performance of a High-Voltage Line-Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

It is well known that the use of slotted stators in motors produces undesirable effects, such as magnetic flux distortion, additional losses, ripple torque, and vibration. However, a large number studies pay more attention to stator slots slot wedges (MSW) asynchronous permanent magnet motors, ignoring same problems capacity high voltage line start synchronous (HVLSPMSM). In order disclose effect on HVLSPMSMs, no-load air gap field distribution leakage reactance are studied. Meanwhile, differences starting pull-in torque pull-out four models compared, performance affected by slot. practical manufacturing, application MSWs main way change electromagnetic slots, so influence under different permeabilities HVLSPMSMs investigated. Finally, motor rated verified prototypes experimental tests, which provide reference for HVLSPMSMs.
